Aegean Breeze makes me feel fine....
Who doesn't want to be on a greek island eating seaside? This wonderful mainstay in the Berkshires is by far the closest you'll get. Just close your eyes and you're there. You can feel the wafting breezes on the shores of the Mediterranean. The decor is soothing with three different areas to eat. In the main room there are skylights so the sun shines down on you while you take in the Greek island feel. They also have a large outdoor patio, an L-shaped indoor terrace and a sit down bar, something for everyone and every occasion.
Mom loves the moussaka, Steve loves the saganaki and Anne loves the avgolemeno, a traditional greek lemon and chicken soup with rice that is their signature dish. Many people come here just for the soup as their meal.
George Cami, chef and owner, grills the seafood and meats charred to perfection with the juices intact. We captured the saganaki flambe in the video so prepare to stand back and experience a pan fried kefalograviera cheese with flaming Metaxa on top so soaked it'll even get you a little tipsy after the foot high flame dies down. The horiatiki salad is with romaine lettuce and the traditional Greek is without so if you want the lettuce with your lunch platter specify. The tzatziki is tzuperb and the Greek fries a must have.
Aegean Breeze is one of our original favorite places to dine and relax in the Berkshires. They have an extensive wine list and liquor bar featuring a nice Greek house wine for you to stay in character. Whoopah!
